How Did I Get Here?
I’ve always loved music. I began playing saxophone at 10, I picked up the guitar at 15 and started playing bass at 16. I’ve bounced between guitar, bass and vocals in bands ever since.
My first “real” gig: Winter-1990 at T.A. Verns in Milwaukee, opening for my local heroes, WARP DRIVE.
Bands: 89-91 VAGRANT (pop-metal), 91-92 ROCK BOTTOM (pop-metal), 92-95 BROTHER’S KEEPER (metal), 95-97 PARADOX (metal), 98-01 S.I.T.E. (Prog (became DX)), 02-06 various projects, The Present: HEDDA (“European Style Power Metal with Progressive Moments and Tendencies”)
Albums: Dream Theater “Images and Words,” Asia “Asia,” Iron Maiden “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son,” Rush “Moving Pictures,” Styx “The Grand Illusion,” and the entire Nocturnal Rites collection!
Books: J.R.R. Tolkien: The Lord of the Rings (series), George R.R. Martin: A Song of Ice and Fire (series), R.A. Salvatore: The Dark Elf Series. I am a voracious reader!
Favorite Web site: It’s a toss-up between TalkBass.com and eBay. Gear Galore!
Movies: The Lord of the Rings, The Last of the Mohicans, Highlander.
Life Philosophy: I try to live by two words; Carpe Diem, meaning “Seize the Day.”
Do everything you can, whenever you can, for as long as you can, the best that you can – life, like time, is fleeting.
Favorite Quote: “Try not. Do or Do Not…there is no Try.” – Yoda.
Most Interesting Job: Professional Firefighter / Paramedic – I’ve seen REAL heroes. I worked with them every day. I’ve had the privilege to know and work with some of the most giving and courageous people on the planet!
